does spectrasonics trilogy output midi file like stylus rmx?

do spectrasonics trilogy & atmosphere output midi files like stylus rmx or are they just huge sample collections. can you bulid and sync the presets like the grooves in stylus. cheers

they're basically just big sample players. (Oversimplification) but essentially there is no Groove-Control like features.

There are syncable LFO's however :)

cheers. i was hoping they had i the groove control function. i'll wait and see if they update it in the near future.

Never tried Stylus... What is a "Groove control"?

its like a fancy version recycle. its based on rex files. the difference with stylus rmx is you get a huge amount of loops and grooves with it, plus tons of effects. it can be expanded with spectrasonics loops and groove or your own rex files. it rocks when it comes to loops.

Groove control? They are virtual synths, not rhythm machines. I highly doubt you will see anything like RMX has. But they are great! They use outboard gear as their sample sources yet you have a synth engine (and layering) on the interface. I use them all the time.

why not? you can slice a bass line up in recycle like any drum loop and use the midi data to rearrange the loop. stylus rmx uses a similar technology. trilogy only needs the preset bass loops or grooves writing and could perform in the same way.
