Attn: Windows Users - Win update resets audio devices

Post by Richie Witch » Thu Nov 16, 2017 12:15 pm

Just a heads up for anyone on Windows. One of the Windows updates I installed last night reset all my audio devices to the Windows default sample rate of 41.1k.

Live's default setting is 48k, so this mismatch will prevent any other audio (YouTube, Spotify, etc) from working after Live has been launched. Even if you close Live, other audio sources will not work until you reboot your computer.

The fix is easy. Open up the audio device properties from the system tray, right click on every playback and recording channel you find there, open Properties | Advanced and change the sample rate setting on each one to whatever you're using in Live's preferences.
