Piano sound issues in Live 9 Intro

Post by tpigot » Tue Dec 05, 2017 11:42 am

Hi guys

I'm new to both this software and this forum, so go easy if I seem like a scrub.

I'm having issues with using Piano sounds in Ableton Live 9 Intro. Symptoms are:

1) Some notes always play louder than others
2) When more than 3 notes are played, the attack sustain and decay is often completely off. It will create a sound that cuts out very quickly, and never reaches peak volume.
3) Most notes that are played sound fairly compressed and do not have the full tone that I am looking for.

I have been using Native Sounds "The Giant" as my piano sound, and I was hoping to get much higher quality than this. I have tried different Piano sounds, different midi keyboards, different output DAC's, all to no avail. I'm pretty sure that the issue is with Ableton Live 9, but I would love some advice. Is there a setting that I can change to help? Is the problem that I am not using the Standard version of Ableton?

Many Thanks

I'm assuming you mean Native Instruments: the Giant, using Kontakt.

Try this test... Kontakt also runs standalone on your desktop. Do you get these same sound issues when your run Kontakt all by itself?
