Ableton live external inst MKS50 - problem with CTRLR plugin

I have bought the MKS50 PG300 programmer panel for CTRLR, but have absolutely no idea how to set it up as a vst in Ableton Live. I have read all sorts of stuff both on here and on the CTRLR forums, but just can not get it to work.

I am running Ableton Live 9 on a macbook running OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan)


Could anyone give me an idiot proof step by step guide on how to do this, as I am trying all sorts but getting nowhere?

If the plugin is using sysex msgs to communicate to the MKS50, then it will not work in Live because sysex is not supported.
