When i try to authorize Live 10.0.1, the Ableton website selects the Beta version instead, and just reauthorizes the Beta.

Lucky you! I've yet to receive mine. Was there much downloading involved?

Got mine too. No need to clean install? It just overwrites the beta?

Live never overwrites previous versions. You don`t need a clean install since it is independent from each other but it`s more foolproof to then erase the old version

i have the "quicksilver" launch app and i sometimes when in a hurry open the wrong version of Live. So i erased the old ones and voila!

Well, that might be the case, but authorization of the new version did try to open the Beta (on Mac).

After removing the Beta the authorization process worked fine.

Just in case other peeps are running into the same problem...

I ran into the problem too but went to offline solution-authorisation

I find it best to make an Offline authorisation cause this way you have time and a cool head to see if you will miss something or are rushing.

But thats only imho

Beta still installed. So far so good with the official version. Just recorded two songs this morning with no problem.

On Windows 10, whatever license file Live downloads from Ableton.com opens a dialog that asks which program I want to use to open it. It did suggest Live 10 Beta as the top choice.

But as was stated already, if you're having problems with it opening the wrong version, offline auth lets you do it from inside whatever version of Live you're authorizing so that should resolve it.

Yes it does. I would probably have 20 versions of Live if it didn't.

Don't know on what Os you are but on Osx it never overwrites older versions. By "Versions" I don't mean Updates in a Version like 9.1 , 9.2 , 9.3 etc
I mean Program Versions as in Live 8 will not overwrite Live 9, Live 10 etc So when i installed 10 yesterday i had 9, 10beta and 10 simultaneously on my laptop.

You can just delete the beta version of the app before you authorize too. The last beta is identical to the release version, so it should be no problem.
