I have been in the beta program but upgraded today....
Now I can't find all the setting that I did in the browser with collections, favorites and so on? Why didn't the upgrade program take that into consideration and do I have to redo it all?

It probably carried over your settings from L9 not the Beta. You should be able to go where it stores the data (ProgramData on PC) and copy the Beta files to the L10 data directory and that will (should) set it up how it was in the Beta.

I had to do that because although I had no issues with the Beta the release crashed while scanning VSTs and weirdly enough, using the Beta config solved this issue.

This article tells you where the collections are stored so you can transfer them. However when I tried it it only restored the categories not the content itself. Maybe I did something wrong and someone else has better luck?

mine restored the categories ok but only restored my own instruments and devices... any ideas?

I copied my Library + Preferences .cgf files from the previous version. I then set the user library to another location, restarted Ableton then restored the original location of my user library and that resolved the issue.
