Open Call; easy midi clock test

Post by homerjsim » Wed Jan 15, 2003 9:14 pm

Sorry for the redundancy but I'm blanketing this to all 3 groups because it's *so* urgent (to me at least).

For me, Live doesn't send stable midi clock - I've tried several slaves and several midi interfaces and both 1.5 and 2.0. So here's an easy test, if anybody has one machine for Live and another running a sequencer - could you take a minute and try sending Live's midi clock to your sequencer (whatever it is), and report back on how your sequencer's tempo window behaves?
My sequencer (Logic) swings wildy back and forth up to 2 BPM around the tempo Live's runing at, as it gradually peels away (severely noticable after 30-45 seconds). I've never seen this in any other midi clock synch situations, and in fact my Live is a stable slave - but the midi clock it sends appears to be *seriously* messed up. Please respond either to the list or to me directly at bales@nyc.rr.com

Thanks very much,
sync-less in New York

P.S. include what your system is... I'm on a 450 Mhz Windows 98, EMI 2|6(ASIO)
Don't even play a clip, just run Live and the sequencer
