Entering values or text still activates keyb. mappings!

Post by Max Oepen » Fri Apr 13, 2018 5:52 am

This has been a pet peeve of mine:
When editing numbers or text anywhere in Live, any keyboard mappings are still active. When any of the mapped keys are hit, the mapped function is still carried out.
This both disrupts the entry, and executes an involuntary action.

Is there a way to switch this off? Mappings should be disabled/ ignored/ bypassed while entering values or texts into any fields by default.

...obviously, Einstein! :)
It's safe to assume that Live is able to recognize when a value or text field is clicked for editing.
It would presumably be a small "bug fix" to program the application to disable keyboard mappings during value or text entries.
This makes so much sense. The current status does not.
