Controlling a Hardware Synth with a Midi Keyboard?

Post by Ludem93 » Fri Apr 13, 2018 10:31 pm

Hi, i'd like to know if there's a way to control my Microkorg with an External Midi Keyboard in Ableton Live.

I'm using the Apogee Quartet interface to record Audio from my Microkorg but there aren't enough octaves and the keys are quite small.

I've connected a Midi cable from the Microkorg to the USB port on my interface
I've connected a jack from the Synth to my interface input which works fine
The External Keyboard is connected to my Mac

I've heard there's a way to route the Midi and Audio so that I can play whatever is coming out from the Microkorg

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

You just have to use Live's external instrument plugin on a midi track. Select your midi keyboard as the input of the midi track and your synth in the " midi to" drop down menu of the external instrument plugin.
