Clip double click behavior?

Hoping this is a dumb and easy fix - is there a command that changes double click behavior on a clip?

Some clips in my session are jumping to the clips in another row when I double click while others just go to the cursor point in the selected clip. I can live with this but would love to learn how to fix!

EDIT - I found a pattern, it’s happening after a certain row in an enormous, 2500+ clip set. It seems that any clips I add past a certain row (maybe row 1000? they’re unnumbered so it’s hard to be sure) displays the clip from the same column but several rows higher. Again, all the clips above this row behave normally. Wtf?!?
