+1

Seems people don't like testing, counting and measuring, they just invent some notion in their heads (or read some claim in a forum) and stick to it until they die.

If people counted how many steps and recorded how much time it takes for them to load stuff in other DAW's browsers they would see how Live's is one of the best.

What is useful, really excellent and beautifully thought out specifically with the browser? You're comparing to 9?

Weird post. AFAIK it is exactly the same as Live 9?

Which, btw, means you still can't "jump around" in large sound files when previewing them ... (warp engine off) ...

So, no.

I don't see how it's weird really. Likely ian_halsall discovered something he liked in the browser of Live 10. Hopefully he will share his discoveries in more detail.

It is not "exactly" the same. That said I haven't paid much attention to the new stuff yet.

That would be nice to have working, though likely it would mean every previewed file would get and asd-file next to it. But that one feature is missing is not a reason in itself to not appreciate what's there. I don't see that anyway.

What are the differences?

I don't really know. You'll have to look around in Live, or like here: Ableton Live 10: Every New Feature Explained And Demonstrated (Workflow, Browser, Plugins, Capture) (Slynk @youtube).

I like it - maybe I didn't pay attention to it enough before so I don't know how much different it is in 10 but it seems a lot "better" - maybe it's all the new packs

sorry if I offended anyone

I don't think anyone's offended, mate. In fact, it's awesome to have someone post something positive about Live!

And I agree, the browser is pretty neat.

I like the distinction between Categories and Places, and the previews seem to load nice and fast.

The collections part is awesome. I've only marked favorite plugins, so I haven't run out of colors yet, but I'll expand it to go-to instruments, go-to effects and I'll probably set one up for return-plugs (I usually stick to the same plugins for my returns).
