Problem with recording guitar

Post by julian_is_god » Tue Aug 14, 2018 10:15 am

I'm very new to ableton. When I record my guitar into an audio interface, there is a very very short delay on the audio, just a few milliseconds. It isn't latency, i can hear both the original and the delayed sound. I'm not sending to the delay track, seems to be just from the audio interface. Anyone know of a solution?

Edit: Nevermind, sorted it.

It sounds like you have on both direct monitoring and input monitoring. You will hear the no latency signal added with the signal going through your computer and back to the soundcard output which have latency.

As a general rule if you aren't recording with VST effects, its best to turn off input monitoring and just use your direct monitoring (which is usually on in most audio interfaces by default), that way you will be monitoring your input audio with very minimal or no latency.
