Live 10 Stability

How stable is 10 for you compared to 9?

Just as stable > No problems

For context:
Win 10 Pro, i7 4990K @ 4Ghz, 16GB DDR 2400 RAM, 512GB SSD, Roland OctaCapture, Live 10.0.2 + Beta

I'm on a Win10pro machine with Live 10 Suite - very stable, same as Live 9 Suite!

I find 10 less stable. Just upgraded last week and 10 has crashed many times, usually while loading a set. I never had crashes with 9. Downloading 10.0.3 now so hopefully that will help.

On my desktop (Windows 7) 10.0.2 is pretty stable, but the Beta 10.03 is pretty crashy.
EG: It will crash when I'm saving a max patch 1/3 times. It will crash when loading certain songs quite repeatably.
the bugs are being tracked and progressed, etc.


On my Laptop (Win 10) 10.0.2 is stable. (I do not have the beta on the laptop)

I assume this will take a bit more, i've not yet experienced improvements in this area in the 10 beta rounds.

10.02 was working flawless. Live updated itself to 10.03 and now it´s lagging end even freezing windows.
Resetting Live to it´s default settings didn´t solved it unfortunately. Submitted a bugreport and try going back to 10.02.

Try with the full 10.0.3 installer instead of auto-updating. Sometimes something wrong happens with auto-updates.

I did a complete uninstall, as you can find on the Ableton homepage and did a whole new installation of Live 1.0.3. Unfortunately Live freezes and laggs on startup just as before. Damn. Will go back to 10.02.

EDIT: NO problem with 10.02. No freezing, no lagging. Everything works flawless.

I'm gonna leave it a while before installing that as I'm on deadlines and the beta didnt inspire confidence.

I’m now at 10.0.3 and it’s working much better for me. Only had time to try opening a variety of old sets tonight and had no issues, whereas 10.0.2 would crash occasionally. Also fixed some other issues with au synths. Much happier now about the upgrade from 9, which was super stable.
