Midi Keyboard Notes Dropping During Live Play

I am having an issue where random notes from a midi keyboard will not play through Lite while all the surrounding notes come out fine. I don't think it's a hardware issue because it appears random. For example, C3 will register through Live when played ten times in a row, then suddenly it goes silent for a single note, then it's back again. The next dropped note may be E5. Any ideas?

Bad midi or usb cable? Too many other usb devices running at the same time?

It does sound like a hardware issue. Try using the typing keyboard as a midi keyboard to see if notes drop there also.
If your typing keyboard plays fine it could be hardware like Tarekith said.
