Midi Key Mapping Save

Post by lwpweb » Wed Sep 19, 2018 8:45 am

simple question: is it possible to save generally a specific key or midi mapping for use in other projects? (using Ableton 10) Do not want to establish the mapping from scratch if i start a new or edit an existing project. Thanks for feeback.

It won’t automatically map in older projects but if you set everything in Live as how you believe you’d ideally always start a project you can go to preferences and hit Save as default. I have a lot of QWERTY mappings saved like this. I like using exclamation as metronome. Tilde as tap tempo. Lots of other little useful mappings saved that I can always rely on when I’m really into it.

You can also create templates and save those.
