how to record Looper into arrangement?

is this possible to record Looper into arrangement on the actual track that Looper is on? at the moment i have another track set up to record from the Looper track, which works fine but seems a bit of an odd way of doing things. i have the Looper track set to ext in to record and then loop audio but i cant figure out if i can record these loops into arrangement on that track or if i have to route the audio to another track to record it
