Is it possible

Post by filtersweep » Tue Dec 18, 2018 1:04 am

To copy sections of clips from the clip window, or must the material be on the arranger view first?
Also, i find that the quantise value seems to reset itself to 'adaptive grid' when all i want is the normal quantize divisions? Am i accidentally presseing a shortcut.
thanks

So you would like to copy and or move midi and audio clips from the session view to the arrangement view?

If so simply select and drag the clips you wish to move to the arrangement view and then hit tab, from there drop them in the right place making sure you place them on the corresponding instrument tracks.

Or just record it in, using the arrangement record.

no, that's not what i mean.
i am talking about highlighting sections of audio, similarly as you could in Acid.
actuallyyou can do this in several daws... but not here it seems :)
you have to copy whole clips and then edit them..

no you don't

click Tab and go to Arrangement View.

turn off snap-to-grid if you want more granularity

you are misunderstanding me.
i am talking about using the clip/window to cut and paste sections into the timeline ( arranger).
this question is about Clips, not the arrangement timeline.

thanks anyway

Yeah, not sure any of us know what you are asking because you said this:

Code: Select all

i am talking about using the clip/window to cut and paste sections into the timeline ( arranger).
Then this:
i'm talking about the CLIP window, not the arranger.
Do you want to copy audio, midi from one clip to another clip (within session view) on the same track, onto a different track?

Or are you wanting to copy something from a clip in Session view to the timeline in arrangement?

If you want to copy "part" of a clip from session to arrangement, do not believe that is possible but honestly I just copy the whole clip to arrangement then edit it/clip it to the part I need

i mean chopping sections and dragging to arrange view.
as you say copying to arrangement first before editing etc.
i just wondered if there was an alternative way...
