So I'd like to perform a live set and then sample loops as I go and mess with them but I'm finding it impossible using Push2.
In Ableton software, if I have a 1 bar clip playing (in my case recorded live from external hardware) I can right click the clip and click "Slice to new midi track". After letting me select a slicing option it then creates a new track with the slices as individual Simplers in a drum track and creates a midi clip and does not stop the original clip playing. Now I play the other clip instead.
Apart from the fact the the new clip is playing more quietly (any tips for that??) it works as I would like it to - I can now flip to that clip and I can start to mess with it - reverse slices, rearrange them etc. It also creates macros for ADSR to all the slices.
How can I do the same thing using Push2? If I use the convert options, it stops the original clip playing(?!), it doesn't create midi clips and the slicing process seems to require another convert step.
Seems surprising unsuitable for live use.
