How well does Ableton Live interact with Windows touch screen monitors?

It is not ‘multi’ touch. So you won’t be able to hold and adjust a volume at the same time as adjusting a filter.

Also, most things in Live, not being designed for touch, respond either after you lift your finger or after you move your finger once you press it down. For instance, triggering a clip or if you were to play notes on a keyboard, you can put your finger on the tiny play button or key, but until you either lift your finger or wiggle/slide your finger slightly, it won’t react to your touch.

It’s convenient in very rare cases. And even a fun novelty at times. You can use a midi keyboard and adjust things on the screen individually. Also, if you do want to ‘control’ Live with a touchscreen, there is always Touchable which covers most functions similarly to Push. It still isn’t quite the same thing as directly controlling Live though. But Touchable does support multitouch.

Arrangement View on the other hand probably won’t be as exciting as just sticking to using a mouse. Midi notes aren’t bad in pencil mode as long as you remember to only add one at a time.

Thanks for the reply. Live is the only program I would use with multi touch and it sounds like its not much fun to use in its current state.

I know this is late but over 3 and a half years ago, this guy posted a YouTube video showing how well Live works with a touchscreen—specifically with a Microsoft surface book and the surface pen.
