Hmm interesting. I use Scarlett 18i8 2nd gen with 2018 Mac Mini.. No issues via Usb-C to Usb-A hub. I guess it's USB3 then but don't see it mentioned anywhere on the product page.

I remember an issue with the Presonus Audiobox 1818 vsl with the Mac mini 2012. I had pops and clicks on the Mac but it worked fine on a Windows PC I had.
