HELP!!! Electronic Drum Production Tips

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum so apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I'm looking for some advice from other electronic producers. I'm specifically looking for any advice on getting a certain drum sound. I'm a big fan of anything that comes out of the Toolroom label and have been referencing their tracks against my own and one major thing stands out. Their drums have a sonic quality to them I just can't replicate. Mine seem to always sound too brittle and too much high frequency information, but when I try to reduce these frequencies they quickly sound muffled and lack presence and air. The Toolroom drums always are clear, punchy but don't have that high frequency brittle sound that I find I always end up with.

This track is a good example of the drum sound I'm trying to reference https://youtu.be/gg8CWeupiEA

This is a short excerpt of my drums https://soundcloud.com/stephenhullsound ... pt/s-SkWEU

I'm not adding any highs to my drums but seem to end up with a brittle sounding high end.

I actually work in theatre and am producing tracks for a show about rave culture but really struggling to get a sound that I think will translate to large club system hence why I'm referencing Toolroom tracks as I know they have a great sound (in my opinion..I know not everyone's taste)

Any advice greatly appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out trying to get this sound!

All the best
