Question about controlling separate software synth with one MIDI controller knob

Hi all,

I have a midi fighter twister and would like to map same knobs to control separate synths and their perimeters like filter cutoff, attack, decay and etc (serum, pigments, sylinth or whatever). When I midi map to lets say serum filter cutoff on one channel then when I map same knob to another synths filter cutoff on another channel this knob now controls both synth at the same time.

How can I have this same knob assigned to different synth but only have it work once i am using that particular channel/synth? Instead of it controlling all assigned parameters on different channels?

Thank you for your help!!

There might be control surface scripts you can find for your controller. These allow you to automatically control a number of parameters on a device you select without mapping. It’s usually 8 parameters with support for pages of 8. The 8 parameters you control depend on the device, but in the case of vsts and racks it is the 8 macros on a rack or the first 8 parameters in the control edit portion of the vst host device.

To ‘select’ those devices you’d probably need to select the channel or select the device itself. You can do this with mapping of either the channel or mapping the title bar above a device.

When you map most ableton instruments they do have 8 micros you can map but 3rd party VST's like serum do not.... I though "lock to control surface" option by right clicking title bar on the device would allow for that but it doesn't.

I am already using midi script for basic ableton control for the twister but trying to map additional available keys on the controller.
