Studio Set Up Help

Post by gavspav » Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:24 am

After years of mucking around making 4 bar loops I've got a big table and space to but my growing collection of gear on!
Can anyone help me with my studio set up?

I've got a 2011 MBP with SSD - seems to be doing OK
A Komplete Audio 6.
Electric Guitar+Amp
Basstation 2
Digital Piano
Ipad + Irig Pro Duo
Push
Maschine
Microphone

Currently I have the guitar, the mic and the BS2 going into separate audio inputs of the soundcard.
The piano midi goes into the interface.
Midi Out goes into the BS2 - mainly using this for the clock signal at the moment.

It's all going well but I haven't worked out how to bring the Ipad into this set up. I want to route the piano through the ipad.
I've not got enough midi or USB ports. I've never had much luck with USB hubs but I guess I should use one.
As for the midi, I'd quite like recording the midi in Live so I can edit my dodgy playing , duplicate clips, play with synth filter settings etc.
Push and Maschine aren't really gelling for me with this set up, somehow, not at the moment.
Maschine has got another pair of midi ports though.

I'm aware I haven't really asked a question but has anyone got any tips, ideas or suggestions?

Plugged the ipad in via Lightning Cable. Not using the Irig Pro.
I've created an aggregate device with the ipad and the komplete audio.
Seems to work although a touch more latency than if I use the ipad on its own which is annoying.
