Hi folks,
Imagine i have an instrument on a track.
What i want is for certain notes to not get to the instrument.
So, for example, if i hit a C1 on my keyboard, it gets blocked and the instrument doesn't receive that note.
Or maybe i even want to block a whole octave or more, like C1 to E2.
And as a variation on that, i'd like to be able to hit a C1, and it get's converted to a E3, which my instrument then receives.
Any ideas about the best way to achieve these things? I have M4L, it that helps....
Thanks!

Re: Midi tool for blocking certain notes?
You can do that with (empty) chains and Key Zones in a MIDI Effect Rack. Notes outside the range set with the Key Zones are blocked.

To convert you put a Pitch device in a chain, for example, set a chain to cover only the C1 key, then add a Pitch device set to +28 to it.
The Scale device can be used to block notes independent of octaves.
[EDIT:]
Another way is taking advantage of the fact that MIDI messages assigned to remote control are not used as normal MIDI anymore, so you can assign the MIDI notes and CC you want blocked to "useless" macros in an empty Audio Effect Rack.

You said that you had M4L so this may be of interest to you as it does exactly that and a whole lot more...
