Hi folks,
When one selects a drum rack in the browser, it auditions the rack by playing a midi pattern (groove) of the drums in sync and tempo with your project.
But i'm wondering: how does Ableton decided to play that particular pattern / groove?
Is there a midi file somewhere that is used for this purpose? If so, where is it and can it be changed?
My thinking is it would be cool to use a midi pattern that has some connection to the style of music i'm actually working on, rather then the present, generic funky beat.
Any ideas? ........ Thanks!

pottering answers THIS part of your question:
Those Ableton and partner instrument browser previews aren't midi patterns at all. They're recorded samples stored in ogg files in the packs' folder structure. They're warped to match your set's tempo.
and the video shows how you can knit your own.

In retrospect, for checking how a Drum Rack sounds with your own MIDI, it is probably easier to just use Hot-Swap Mode with a playing MIDI loop.
