So I've set up a layered synth in a track by using two VST synths. After the layered synth I have an effect. I want to control the cutoff filters of the two synths and a parameter in the global effect after the synth.
The issue starts because I can't include global effects for the instrument rack.
Due to this, I have to create another rack around my instrument rack to control the effects. So the Macro of the instrument rack controls the cutoff filters and the macro of the next rack controls the other macro and the effect parameter.
Is there no way to include a global effect INSIDE the instrument rack?

No. Afaik, this is the only way to do it. Otherwise the effect always ends up after one of the instruments and not all of them.
Just did a pretty complex rack myself, and it's always about mapping things "to the left" in the chain as you described.

With ClyphX Pro you can use the MacroBat feature....
