Warping: Tones Mode vs Texture Mode

Post by matthewnovachis » Wed May 22, 2019 8:56 pm

Hi everyone
I am confused about some of the terminology in the manual about the difference between Tones and Texture Warp Modes. In the manual, they describe how Tones and Texture are similar, except...

In Tones Mode, the Grain Size is determined in a signal dependent manner. In Texture Mode, Grain Size is determined without considering the signal’s characteristics.

What the?!??!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Can anyone translate this for me please?

Thank you!

Tones is for monophonic material eg bass lines and vocals textures is for harmonies, eg chord etc
