I just upgraded from v9 - the same thing in v10 for me, endless indexing activity icon, v9 had no such issue (spinning was always about 15-20 seconds).
Win10 here.

Yeah, for me too. I updated to 10 a few months ago. Very occasionally, the spinning thing will disappear but for no reason it'll appear again and then never stops for that session.

I contacted support and they said, to paraphrase, 'it's cosmetic, deal with it'.

If it wasn't for all the other cool things in Live 10 I'd have gone back to Live 9. Yeah, it bugs me that much. In the end I just collapsed the browser and try not to think about it.

It's definitely not just cosmetic and I can provide simple proof.

If the browser spinner is spinning and I try to load a song with a lot of waves then the load bar crawls in slow motion. If I then kill the indexer process the status bar shoots to the end and all the waves load in under a second.

So to be clear:
if the indexer is running in TaskManager (spinner spinning) = big songs take a few minutes to load.
indexer killed in Task Manager so that the spinner disappears = the song will now load within 1 second.

that's not "cosmetic"

I can easily provide screen recordings of this happening, and it's very clear to see how killing the process allows the "stuck" waves to load. Repeatable.

How many people are not reporting this issue or bug? I am. Buggin.' Lame. Hurry up 11! Assuming 11 solves the bloody issue.

Curious if people are also "missing media files"?

Curious thing is that the 7 files I am missing are from Unnatural Selection by Puremagnetik. This pack was free. However, I downloaded it again and they are still "missing." Is that why the wheel keeps going?

I didn't think it was cosmetic either. But that's what they said. I should have persevered with support but I've been down that road before...

Has it been fixed in Live 11?

FIXED for me. The pack I mentioned above was reloaded a second time and it finally stopped spinning. Mine was indeed due to missing files. Happened after I upgraded from 9 to 10. If it happens with a 10 to 11 upgrade I know where to start.

For others it might be what support suggested: Suggested articles
