What is the Volume OSC param in the Sampler?

Anyone know what this parameter, Volume OSC, in Sampler is referring to? It's under the MIDI tab which allows MIDI mapping.

It's the Modulation Oscillator's volume: 24.7.7 The Pitch/Osc Tab
