Problems with setting audio devices

Can anybody help me. I have a Scarlett 18i/20 Interface. When recording my drums I have the audio device set to - Focusite usb asio, Once I have recorded the drum track, I play back the track but there's is no sound. I have to change the audio device setting to - E essence stx 22 asio(64) to get the sounds working. In this setting I can't record the drums? This was not the case a few weeks ago, I would just keep it in Focusite usb asio.
