Automating Sinpler's playback modes

I'm trying to get simpler to play back a bunch of vocal slices in Poly mode, but then for the final note to switch to Thru so the entire sample is played. There seems to be no way of automating that. I couldn't get it to live-record me manually changing the setting either. Ultimately i just added a 2nd audio track of the particular bit i wanted to play, but it feels like a kludge. Is there a way of getting Simpler to do what i want?

I would just make an extra drum rack pad with the simpler set to play the whole thing.

Then when you want it to play the whole sample you just use that drum pad instead.

That it's roughly what i did - adding a separate track for that one bit of sound. Thanks for the input!
