So i've read that nowadays 24 is the most used bit depth when exporting files since its a big bump from the 96dB dynamic range that 16 gives you. But what im wondering is what "bit depth" am i hearing my music inside of ableton played back to me at? Does this have anything to do with whether or not im using a x86/x64 application? Because if, say, im hearing it at 32 bit but i'd decide to bounce it using 16 that should cause some problems, right? Or am i going about this all wrong?

Even though Ableton use a combination of 32 and 64 bit processing, you only hear 24 bit through your da converters.
