Live 5 for OS 9?

Post by tencentcat » Mon Jul 18, 2005 11:23 pm

I can't find any details anywhere on the system requirements for version 5. Does anyone know if it will include an OS 9 version like all the older versions?

Unforunately, no. Mac OS9 has been discontinuated... Can still use Live4 for ever, or upgrade to Mac OSX....

That's a shame. But I guess it had to happen sometime.

I just need the OS 9 version for my old powerbook that I use live. It's not quite fast enough to handle OS X, but it does what I need it to do in 9.

If I upgrade to 5 (from Live 2) would I have access to Live 4? Or do I need to upgrade before 5 comes out?

Your best bet would be to upgrade to Live 4 NOW, giving you a fully functional OS9 version, and you will recieve the Live 5 upgrade for free because it is so close to the release date. But if you wait till after the release of Live 5 (possibly days away) it may be a different story. My advice would be GET IN QUICK

I'm still using OS9 on stage with an older powerbook, but have OSX, and hence soon Live 5, along with Logic 7, for the studio.

Same setup exactly for me. Thanks for the tip - think I'll go ahead and dive in.
