With Live 10.0 + Windows 7 x64 + MOTU Audio ASIO (latest driver) on 828 mk3 Hybrid connected as USB, I had this problem:
- 1) Start a new project
- 2) Play a sine440Hz.wav on Track1 or any other sound that lasts a few seconds, so that you can easily notice small glitches / audio dropouts
- 3) Do CTRL+T to add new tracks, remove tracks, use the Ableton Live user interface: click, move the mouse, etc. : you will hear glitches (I'll do a video if I have time)
10.1.1: lots of crackles when doing the step 3) above
9.7.7: lots of crackles when doing the step 3) above
9.6.2: lots of crackles when doing the step 3) above
9.6.1: lots of crackles when doing the step 3) above
9.6: NO crackles at all!!
9.5: NO crackles at all!!
9.2.3: NO crackles at all!!
9.1.10: NO crackles at all!!
Question: What did change about audio IO / ASIO management between Live 9.6 (working) and Live 9.6.1 (glitches)?
PS: I have already tried all the common ways to eliminate glitch / dropouts on Windows PC (power management things, ASIO drivers, increase the latency/buffer, etc.). Interesting reading about this by the way: https://www.cantabilesoftware.com/glitchfree/
