automate groove parameters?

Post by zsazsa » Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:39 pm

Hi all I would like to vary the amount of groove applied throughout a track.
Does anybody know how to automate/ modulate the groove parameters?
E.g. : start of the song amount = 0 , build up to 50 % in the 2nd chorus...

Groove from the groove pool or swing from Push2?

That's a good question, never thought about the possibilities..........

If you open the groove pool, you can map the global groove amount (bottom right), but that's it. However, to automate this in a clip, you'll need some M4L magic. I don't think Live does this natively in Session view. It does in Arrangement (look in the automation lane for the master track).
I just tried with Isotonik Smart, and this works in a session clip (Smart can map it's macros to anything modulatable in Live and is not restricted to devices in that rack). Maybe something like ClyphX macrobat can do it as well.

Just checked the ClyphX pro manual, yes, the global groove amount is assignable.
That would be ok.

Have to check the macrobat if it works for global parameters.
