Automation not engaging when dials turned
Automation not engaging when dials turned
Hi,
For some reason certain automation dials will not engage. For example in Serum, all dials activate when rotated so you can draw the automation in. Massive X it works fine on the oscillators but then most of the others will not activate. I have just bought Kilohearts bundle, their individual fx plugins dials activate fine in automation but then Phase Plant and Multipass do not.
Any help appreciated!
Thanks

BTW I have tried clicking on configure on the plugin itself and then selecting a dial to activate but this also doesn't work

Not all controls in all plugins can be automated.
It depends on the plugin and the developer but if you can map some controls and not others then chances are those that cannot be mapped are not "Host Automatable"
Some plugins (UVI, Spectrasonics, Kontakt) require you to right-click the controls in the instrument and select "Host Automation" to allow the control to be seen by the host. This is typically due to the fact the instrument offers more controls than the host automation limit allows for.

Thanks man. Yeah I read that online last night but it just seems weird that all of massives dials are automatable but the massive x only a few are. As well as that, all the Kilohearts separate fx plugins work fine but then Kilohearts phase plant doesn't at all. You'd think in this day and age that this would be super simple, which leads me to believe there is a bug with Ableton perhaps.

Windows?
There's a line in the Options.txt file – Ableton -_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins
It's the second last of the "examples".

That's for the computer keyboard. There are some instances where trying to type information for a search or something in some plugins does not register key presses. Won't help with automationchrk wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 10:05 amWindows?
