Multiple audio notes on piano roll.

Post by Vinyl sound » Thu Nov 14, 2019 2:29 pm

Hello, newbie here.
I've managed to convert an audio clip to midi clip,
Now let's say the audio clip was
'help me please'
I want to play on the piano something like this,
Me me me-help-please-please-please-help,
I have worked out how to crop a clip in the sampler, but I can only can do one crop, and i can't put individual notes that are cropped next to each other on the piano,
Help appreciated. :)

My advice would be not to rely on automation. Slice that up manually, load up your samples into Simpler or Sampler and then go wild!
With kind regards,

Peter

Using the 'Power' Trio: Live 10 Suite (+ Push & Max 8 ), Reason 10 and Maschine Mk3 (+ the ultimate Komplete 12).

2 ways you can do it

1st is to take the sample clip, right-click and "slice to drum rack" which will allow you to take the single sample and slice it to different pads (keyboard notes) which maintain their root note but allow you to play just a segment of the overall sample.

You can choose to slice to drum track or just load the sample on pad 1 of a drum rack and duplicate to other pads and set your ranges.

Here is a quick video on using the drum rack for this:

Second way is to use Sampler and keyranges.

This is a little more flexible because you can set a range of keys for each sample allowing some pitch variation if you want. You just duplicate the sample and in a similar way to drum racks, set your range and the root note for the range.

This video shows how to do multi samples in Sampler
