Hi all — long time lurker; first time poster here.
I have what seems like a relatively simple question, but it’s been puzzling me and a search didn’t yield anything.
I’m using live’s “external instrument” to send live midi out to a Juno 60, but I was wondering if there’s a way to make the track monophonic on the live/midi side of things for playing leads and basses, since the Juno is a poly synth.
I’ve tried prodding around online, but most of my searching returns queries about mono audio, rather than monophonic midi lines.
Basically what I want is some kind of midi device in front of “external instrument” that chokes all notes except for the most recent one. This seems simple but it’s been vexing me... any advice would be super appreciated

Don't know of any utility, but I'm sure someone will chime in if there is. You can certainly edit things that way. Try maxforlive.com

I use this one (mostly when browsing presets, to change playing style when it seems some preset will sound better for mono bass or lead):
