Ableton 9 crashing when I drag audio to browser

Ableton 9.7.7
Mac OS 10.13.5

I have been dragging audio to Live's browser for a long time, building up a repository of clips that I can load during a dj set.
Recently, Live started crashing immediately when I drag audio to the browser. I can no longer save new Live Clips to my dj archive.

Additionally, loading existing clips from the browser to the current Live set takes absurdly long (1 minute or more).

Any tips?
