Compressor clicking when sidechaining

Hi guys,. been trying to solve the clicking when I sidechain on the compressor, tried with slower attack, everything, but it keeps clicking, what can I do.

I never really run into this, although several people on this forum have this issue as well.

The problem supposedly is from the new compression algorithm introduced in version 9. What some do is load up the version 8 compressor in Live which doesn't have this issue. Version 8 compressor is actually still in Ableton 10, you just need to find a version 8 compressor preset and use that. You might be able to find online.

The post-L9 Compressor iteration is just way faster than the previous one, so you need to raise the attack time.
Also check RMS mode and maybe play with the lookahead value.
What is your side chain source?

Site is working for me. Just google Ableton 8 compressor preset. Anyone will do.


What's your attack time and approx how much gain reduction (I know no number readouts but an estimation help). Whsts your ratio?

Try hi-passing your sidechain kick source. Maybe its lows/subs are distorting the compressor envelope?
