1-shot slice to midi as default

Hi guys, newbie here but I have searched and cannot find an answer to why the slice to midi function defaults to classic mode and not 1-shot as was the case when I first looked into Ableton a long while ago...
Any pointers of how to set it up as a one-shot default would be highly appreciated.
