Congratulations!

Can someone please tell me if there is a difference between the boxed version and the download version of Live5? Am I missing anything by only getting the download version? Is there extra stuff in the library disc? Please tell me so I can GIVE YOU MY MONEY.

same here, I remember reading that the live pack format was going to make it so that we could all download the library.

is that still the case?

Hi StompyJ,

the current Live 5 download contains 3 Live packs. More Live packs will be available via download beginning/middle of next week.

regards,
Alex

Alex, thanks for that answer. I just want a simple clarification answered:

Do I get any more software, loops, or library elements by buying the boxed version, other than the printed manual and the t-shirt. Please answer...I've got my credit card in my hand.

Alex,

to go along with nebulae, is there anything besides the manual missing if we order the download version as opposed to the boxed version?

ie will the livepacks comprise what will come with the boxed version?

Excellent work btw! Take a long well deserved break (after you answer my question of course :o )

Ok, here's the answer from Ableton Support:

Hello,

If you don't need a printed manual and fancy stickers: go for
the download ;-)

Have fun!
Dom Wilms

And after another round of clarifying questions (because I'm that anal)

We planned to make them all available as a download, so we will have a
solution for you.

cheers,
dom

But wait, there's more.....

http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23909

The Library disk DOES contain more stuff, so you might want to order the boxed version.

just wanted to post the same link regarding the difference of the 3 and more download packs. so it is planned to make all packs of the live cd available as a download, at the moment there are three of them. and alex mentioned the pending issue with the library disc in the link you posted.

that's the problem discussing the same topic in the forum and emailing the support while copy and pasting between email/forum thread :)

maybe we can even add a bit more confusion, if we try hard.

:-)

I apologize for the confusion...can you imagine in my crazed giddiness to buy the product I couldn't get this answer anywhere on the website. Imagine credit card in one hand, order page up on one browser, while feverishly searching ALL over for this simple answer on another browser.

In any case, I'm glad we got the answer after several exchanges. Perhaps we could have circumvented the whole thing by making this clear on the download and ordering pages?

Thanks for the great effort on this product. All the best.

Rad!! Just ordered my download of v5 + operator. Very happy indeed. Had my eye on operator for a while now. Printed the v5 manual last week.

Now to get the live packs I will have to leave my DAW hooked up until the last minute before I move next week so I can download them before I move to my new place out in the country side with no highspeed distraction.

Off to try and pack boxes and play with Live v5.
