Are you listening the whole track for the test? some parts of the track are more demanding than other(37-45 bar??); with seven 16 track groups I get 60% CPU from bar 7 to 15 and 90% plus from 29 to 45.

I think it would be better to just loop a few bars or one of the scenes (scene 6 seems more CPU demanding), also SR & Pitch conversion setting in preferences also makes a difference in CPU use, but I guess most people have it in HI-Q

Without adjusting audio levels everything sounds distorted with just few groups, maybe is better to run the test with -10/-15dB per group..

Any way

1-Min 16% Max 32% normally stays between 20-24%
2- (7 groups)112 tracks without Push 2(Push2Display process takes another 7% CPU but still manages to play those 7 groups, just a few glitches from bars 29-45)
3- Custom built Windows desktop
4- Win 10 pro 1903
5- Suite 10.1.15
6- I7 3770K OC@4.4GHz GPU Silent Nvidia GT 1030
7- 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
8- Presonus Studio 1810
9- Crucial MX500 SSD For App and Cache, 7200rpm HDD Raid for Factory packs and temp files

I looped it through the whole track and you're right, the back end of the track definitely asks more of the computer than the first bit.

I got around the distortion problem by dropping the level on the first group before I started creating copies. First time I didn't do that and I couldn't tell if it was distortion or the CPU dropping out.

1. Ableton Live CPU Meter % with the Live Set for the Lesson ~15% avg with 20% max spike Turbo Boost disabled ~24% and 32% max
2. Maximum number of playback tracks? 288 and 210 with turbo boost disabled
3. Laptop/Desktop? Make/Model? – Macbook Pro 16" 2019 i9 2.4ghz

Figured I'd include turbo boost disabled since those of us with these new 16" using external displays are mostly using it disabled unless needed due to these stupid gpus. Egpu coming in two days, yay!

System - 2020 27" Retina iMac.
10 core i9 @ 3.6Ghz, turbo to around 5 GHz.
RAM 32GB Kingston Hyper X matched to Mac's spec.
GPU AMD Radeon Pro 5700, 8GB video RAM
Test project run from default location on internal drive, 1TB, Apple's standard NVME SSD. Live library located on external SamsungX5 portable SSD (NVME chips) connected by Thunderbolt 3.
No tuning done to Mac at all other than a fresh install four days ago. Using an options.txt file to reduce the refresh rate and lower Live 10's impact on the Mac's windowserver system might help - it certainly did on my 2015 i7 MBP with intel graphics, but right now I can't be bothered. None of my projects are anything like as heavy as this.

16 tracks = 18%
32 tracks = 20%
64 tracks = 26%
128 tracks = 40%
256 tracks = 66%
512 tracks = 120% near end with sound getting rather weird - but no actual drop-outs which surprised me.

One oddity - in all play-throughs the "D" hard disk overload light blinked at the same spot. No noticeable effect on audio quality at all, and disk activity generally very low, especially in the 16 and 32 track runs.
Live 10 Suite, 2020 27" iMac, 3.6 GHz i9, MacOS Catalina, RME UFX, assorted synths, guitars and stuff.
