Live5 vs Live4 perf test

Post by peeddrroo » Sat Jul 23, 2005 10:15 am

ok, here we go for another benchmarking session.
i think it's better if we stay with the Live4 performance test.
AdamJay's test was good, and it will enable us to compare Live4 and Live5, and see if there's been improvements for each CPU/OS configuration.

so here's the link to the original Live4 performance test.

read it carefully, and reproduce it with Live5, then post your restuls here.

cheers!

just a note: the samples for the set need to be located when you launch the standalone .als
it's easier to download the zip file here

ok, so here are my results:
1. 27%
2. Laptop Compaq Presario R3230E
3. Win XP Home SP2
4. Athlon 64 3000
5. 768MB
6. M-Audio FW410
7. don't know, probably 5400rpm

on a side note, if i switch PDC on, i get 29%.

i had the same results with Live4.

It should be stressed - dont bother with results from the betas, as they have the bug reporter and related debug code

Man does your system have a shared resources graphics system or something.
That's way too high for a Centrino.
Have you tweeked your SpeedStep settings to get maximum power out of the CPU - that should be reading around 27% easily .
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....

>>>Yeah, I had Speedstep enabled from earlier in the day, it lets me run Reason longer when I'm out and about and don't need much CPU. Wuth Speedstep disabled, I can run the test at %25 dead steady. <<<
