I like a brief harmonica intro of a song, so I wonder if there is any time threshold beyond which material is copyrighted.
Years ago, I think I heard that was two seconds so that you were free to sample less than that.
Where to look for the express rules?

there are plenty of guides online. there is no minimum sample length.
