visuals to add to Live

Post by kebabman » Sun Dec 13, 2020 3:11 pm

Hi there

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere...

I'm involved in 2 projects.:

1 My solo electronica using Live 9 suite to trigger scenes/loops etc

2 A rock based group where I play guitar and keyboards with a real drummer.

I'm interested in software to use to create visuals synced to the music.

I've read about performers using things like Resolume, Arkaos, Rokvid and Zarobot. Rokvid and Zarobot run within Max for Live I believe - I currently have no experience of M4L...

I have 2 macbook pros.

Is the way to do this have my Live sets running off one machine and use the second for the visuals? Do you have a mic plugged into the the video machine to detect pitch, tempo etc?

Is it easier to do what I want with electronic loop based electronica?

For my rock project is it much harder to do this sort of thing?

I'm not sure if I need if I need a visualiser or something more sophisticated?

Apologies but I'm a complete newbie on visuals!

Many thanks
If I'm not there I'll cut my hair...

Many thanks for the reply

This looks excellent - love the way that control of audio and effects syncs with it in live.

I'm guessing you could also use this for non electronic rock - guitar bass and drums. I'm guessing you could use an external mic and drums and guitars could have an effect on the visuals.

Many thanks
