pack: Electric Pianos
pack: Electric Pianos
Hi,
I am considering to buy 'Electric Pianos' but with the disadvantage, that it is only usable in live.
Can you recommend any similiar VSTi?
Thank's, horst

Depending on your Live license, you might have the "Electric keybards" included.

Hey mate,
Depends on your budget - lots of great stuff out there.
North 7 Vintage Keys by Spitfire Audio is lovely sounding: https://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/a-z/ ... tage-keys/
Check out some of Spitfire's free (and amazing) Labs products - they might have some keys in there, too. https://labs.spitfireaudio.com/

If your budget can handle it, I would recommend Spectrasonics Keyscape. $399
Re: pack: Electric Pianos
Pianoteq also do electric pianos, no idea how they play and sound though.

Hi all of you,
must not be free, but more than 300 € $ L, whatever, is nearly more than the cost of live .
I will try the free spitfire first (but why do I need to install an installer )
Interesting: all the example videos at the site are with a band, nearly not possible to listen to the pure instrument. If I want to sell, I wouldn't do so .

Yeah, some of these VSTs are incredibly pricey - but generally amazing. I don't have Keyscape, but judging from the insane quality of Omnisphere and Trillian, then I'm am positive it will be amazing.siehorst wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 8:20 pmHi all of you,

Ha! Installing an installer. Crazy times! lol.

Did you play with Electric (which is part of Live Suite) bring to life with saturation, chorus, amp etc...siehorst wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 8:20 pmHi all of you,

Hi,
I have done a recording for a jazz band here in my studio and the keyboarder took is own rhodes. I would like to hear a sound similar to that, a good remembrance for my own rhodes.
yes, but I am missing the bright bell, chime like sound part of the rest.

Re: pack: Electric Pianos
Tried the free spitfire:
nice, but not overwhelming. Too little dynamic in the sound related to the hardness of hitting a note.
Plyed back a fresh systemimage to remove the installerinstaller
I will have a closer look at the pack, it is not too expensive.

Re: pack: Electric Pianos
Have you tried Arturia? Analog Lab V gives a limited range of pianos, Collection gives you full access or you can buy any of them individually.
Re: pack: Electric Pianos
Not yet, but they have the best sound documentation on their website.
Re: pack: Electric Pianos
I use Lounge Lizard by AAS for all my rhodes playing. The sound design settings are super flexible - you can get really gorgeous sounds out of it. I have the Arturia V Collection 7 and comparing the Rhodes instruments - I find the Lounge Lizard sound far superior for the sounds I want.
It is also at a great price right now as there is apparently a 50% Off sale on right now (ends in 4 days).

If it helps, here is an example of me playing a mellow glassy sparkly type sound (I have no idea how to describe it, haha).

... you can also get really nice dark moody sounds out if it too.

Re: pack: Electric Pianos
I've found the electric *piano pack sounds pretty good (a tad on the cpu hungry side though). for 55 euros maybe it's a good deal over a dedicated vst; I don't know. a vst that does model an electric piano instead of sample based will be lighter on the drive though (like..electric also in live; made by AAS; but the sampled version are better). AAS makes great sounding stuff usually so maybe lounge lizard is a good option; I don't know how it compares with electric (since it's basically a deluxe version of it). both are modeled; not sampled anyway.
edit: I meant Electric *keyboards which is included in suite.
