Hi Forum
I have recently changed from Macbook pro (2019 model) to the new 2020 Macmini
Mac mini (M1, 2020)
Apple M1
8 GB
I have noticed lag and high (20-30% CPU) usage. This is for basic functions that usually did not go past 10% on previous machines
Example
Playback of 3 tracks with 2 effects sends
Playback of 2 external instruments with effects
Has anyone has issues with high CPU usage on the new M1 machines and how did you resolve?
Thank you

In the meantime, please make sure to report your findings to support@ableton.com, that'd help a lot.

could you try adding more tracks/instruments and effects and see if you're immediatly limited? can you try the live 10 performance test and see how it performs compared to your previous mac? According to people who did the test it performs around the same as a 2015 15" macbook pro I think.Kirillr wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 10:51 amHi Forum

From what I read there is a kind of "entry cpu tax" for just having the software running in rosetta; and then adding vsts or effects doesn't tax the cpu much more.
