When Windows stopped supporting Win 7 I was forced to overhaul my entire home studio.
September 2020--new computer, new interface, upgrade to Live 10. Now my worst nightmare, I've gone from a super stable system to crashing every single day. I've tried to isolate the factors:
- I frequently get crash reports upon startup, indicating there was a crash at closing.
I crash when I drag and drop vst's onto tracks, esp. while playing a project
I crash when dragging around midi and audio in session view
I crash when I drag and drop wav's into the drum rack.
I crash when opening recent (and old) projects when I already have a project open. So I can't go from project to project. I have to open a new blank project first, then open the project I want, to limit the crashing.
Crashing doesn't happen every time I do these things, but I there are so many crash triggers I can count on a crash of some sort every time I use Live now.
There is something fundamentally wrong here.
Is there something obvious that I'm missing??
