What issue, pretty lame on the info you give.
Ask in the Live 11 beta forums.

It's the same crackling issue that every third user has. It's a really well known issue.
I'll have an ask in the Beta forum. EDIT: Sorry I'm being thick but I can't find the Beta forum

Cracking issue is a non issue at all & hardly a every third user, or this forum would be on fire, and Ableton wouldnt be used by many, and its so well known that the overwhelming majority do not have a clue what your on about.
Still you provide no details, so its a non event. Game over.
As for not finding the beta forum, well its only for those that have got invites. Obviously your not one of those.

Thanks for the link, much appreciated.
Apologies for my rather taciturn post, I've been struggling with an intermittent cracking issue for a couple of weeks now and I didn't really want to type out all the details again. In a nutshell, it crackles on playback. I've tried the fixes other people have posted with no luck. Sometimes I can fix it by clicking and unclicking the little power icons on the ASIO for all Hardware setup box. But sometimes I can't - there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. The fix might last for a day or two and then the crackles come back. So I was just wondering if anyone who had had a crackling issue (it seems to be reasonably common) had experienced any crackles since switching to 11.
Anyway, I shall keep plugging away!

Asio4all is not that great. And your issue is not common at all.
Take it your on windows, and using built in soundcard. therein lies your culprit.

yeah; sounds like too low latency; built-in soundcard. not familiar with asio4all but would try a larger latency; a different driver if possible; and then maybe a dedicated sound interface.Mark Williams wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:25 pmAsio4all is not that great. Re: Does Ableton 11 solve the crackling issue?
When there is a lack of info supplied, the lack of detailed answers will always follow.....
Firstly, it is ALWAYS asked that you provide the absolute basics of your setup whenever you have an issue irrespective of how bothered you are typing it out:
- OS
- CPU make and model
- Ableton Live Version
- RAM size
- OS on a HDD or SSD
- Audio interface details
- Audio sample rate/buffer/output (ASIO, Direct etc) settings in Live (screenshot can help further)
Without all that, not many would even bother to provide even this much but this is the world now where most people just don't know how to think for themselves, they are use to their phone offering every answer, sad this is becoming more true every generation.
Next, there is absolutely no "known issue" with audio and Live other than it is known many users have no clue how real-time audio software works or differs from the other software they use. To get the best results you need a decent environment and an internal audio interface using Asio4All is a duct tape solution that can sometimes struggle to perform on some systems. This is pro level software and you kind of need the rest of the chain to also be able to support this kind of software.
Without these details we can only point to the likely culprit the audio interface and make the same recommendation to save your pennies and invest in a decent dedicated audio interface with ASIO drivers. You will likely always have some issues using a4a. I have zero issues within the limits of my system, have never had issues in over 10 years, but of course I run a decent system and good quality audio interface.

Re: Does Ableton 11 solve the crackling issue?
Can you perhaps borrow an interface from someone? I realise that might be a bit tricky given the current situation we're all in but 9/10 whenever I see people on PC laptops trying to work with built in sound and ASIO4ALL...that's the problem. Windows is just not great for audio without a dedicated interface. I'd be willing to bet that even a 50 buck ASIO interface will sort out most of your issues.
Re: Does Ableton 11 solve the crackling issue?
To answer the main question. No Ableton 11 does not solve the crackling issue.
I can't even playback anything because of how bad the crackling is. I have 13 tracks 3 of them being audio tracks plus 6 return tracks and not a ton of audio effects. So in total about 19 tracks.

You can check your sytems latency with this tool:
https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon
It does not mather how fast your system is qua specs of cpu and ram etc. if something under the hood of windows is not right........
Did you take the following steps to optimize your OS?
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/ ... Windows-10
Maybe you checked it allready, and made all system adjustments as it occurs you have a pro pc......
Good luck!!!!
